“Together with their thoughts, in silence…”
Officine Générale unveils its first campaign, Shores, featuring models Saskia de Brauw and Henry Kitcher filmed and photographed by Vincent van de Wijngaard.
An exploration of the present – both fixed and in perpetual motion – takes place along the natural beaches of Audresselles in northern France. An undisturbed, pure reflection of time and space. A close encounter with the coast that remains a personal and ongoing inspiration for Pierre Mahéo.
Here, the AW22 Men’s and Women’s collections appear as layers that translate sensations and absorb their surroundings. Shot on Super 16mm film format, this cinematic
return to the sea leads to endless observation.
“The point of departure was the shore, with the idea to travel outside the city. I was born by the sea, so this backdrop and the surroundings truly speak to me and strengthen the impression that the clothes make. The perspectives are vast, yet there’s this feeling of closeness to these two characters – their relationship to each other and to their clothes.”
– Pierre Mahéo
“Although the film takes place in the present, there is a sense of transcending time – traveling back to a place of memory, a meeting, a return to where two stories come back together. The sea does something magical to our minds; it pulls our gaze toward the horizon, soothes our thinking.”
– Saskia de Brauw
“These short films have the character of a movie trailer, all shot on a Super 16 mm film format to preserve the original dimensions of cinemascope. There’s a storytelling element at the forefront combined with a special strength from all the creative forces involved in this project.”
